Thank you Thomas. While we wait for a proper recording of these masterworks (only no. 3 has appeared so far), I'd like to highlight that this is the first time I am able to listen to Op. 59 no. 2 in the performing style and with the instruments Beethoven had in mind. I haven't listened to this work for at least ten years and it is especially close to my heart.
ReplyDeleteLet's see if this "recording" by Quatuor Mosaïques actually makes its way on to disc. So many of these broadcasts do not. :-(
