included: short introduction by Christine Blanken (in German) (pdf)

Keiser composed this Passion oratorio in Hamburg in 1705, on a libretto by Christian Friedrich Hunold. The work was considered to be lost; only the libretto had survived. In 2006 the musicologist Dr. Christine Blanken from the Bach Archive in Leipzig indentified the oratorio. In 2010 the oratorio received its first performance in modern times in the home town of Hunold, to celebrate his 330th birthday.
