ReplyDeleteThank you very much -- 'Das Paradies und Die Peri' is a special favorite of mine and I am obsessive about collecting recordings! I've never heard a recording of this surprisingly-oft recorded work that was without merit. This performance is truly magnificent. The period instruments, the soloists, the purposefully brisk tempos ... it all comes together to make this the recording I would play to one of the many skeptics about Schumann's choral works ('Das Paradies', 'Szenen aus Goethe's Faust', and 'Die Rose Pilgerfahrt) are the Schumann I love the most. Great find and thank you for sharing it@
